After the interview your applications will be presented to Fire Department body for approval for probationary membership. The applicant is then required for approval for probationary status by the board of Fire Commissioners. Shortly after that the applicant will be contacted by one of our line officers to get started. You will need to complete a physical for full membership. All new members start as probationary firefighters or EMT. The probationary period lasts 1 year.
